PUBLICATIONS

Conference participants can submit manuscripts to be considered for publication either in the Conference Proceedings Book or in the special issues of the journals with which the Conference has agreed their publication. Authors can select only one of these two publication options and there will not be possibility to include a manuscript in the Proceedings Book if it was rejected by the selected journal.

Submission of manuscripts is optional.

Participants registered under the full rate or the student registration modes are entitled to present up to 2 manuscripts. Participants registered under the virtual registration mode are entitled to present 1 manuscript.

Contributions will be accepted on the understanding that the authors have obtained the necessary authority for publication and that the article is original and unpublished and is not being considered for publication elsewhere. Upon acceptance of an article, the author(s) will be asked to transfer the copyright of the article to the corresponding publisher.

PROCEEDINGS BOOK

  • The book will be published in autumn 2010 by World Scientific Publishing Group, which is one of the world’s leading academic publishers that will ensure an international distribution of the BioMicroWorld2009 Proceedings

  • As soon as the book is released, participating authors will be informed about all the necessary details to quote chapters (table of contents, ISBN…), which will also be uploaded on this website.

JOURNAL SPECIAL ISSUES

Full papers published in the International Journals collaborating with BioMicrowold2009 will go through a standard scientific review process. This means that each paper will be strictly reviewed and treated as a regular paper (the journals rejection rates will be high in order to select the best articles to increase the impact of the journals and up to reaching the maximum number of papers per issue agreed with each journal)

Papers rejected by a journal cannot be included in the Proceedings Book and cannot be submitted to other journals special issues.

The following journals will publish special issues covering BioMicroWorld2009:

Biodegradation (Springer)

Journal of Industrial Microbiology & Biotechnology (Springer)

American Journal of Agricultural and Biological Science (Science Publications)

Journal of Biotechnology (Elsevier)  - (Only for conference participants who have already been expressly invited by the journal)

Special Issue of Biodegradation (Springer)

Submission protocol

  • Authors are requested to prepare an abstract of one half page of the paper that they are interested in publishing. The abstract must include title, authors’ names and affiliations, name and e-mail of contact author.

  • Submit the abstract by email to biomicro2009@formatex.org before 12 February 2010 putting in the email subject line: Abstract submitted to Biodegradation special issue.

  • The editors for the special issue will review all abstracts and decide who authors will be invited to submit a full paper to be considered for publication in Biodegradation Journal. This decision will be communicated by late February.

  • Those authors who were invited to submit papers will have to prepare them carefully meeting the Instructions for authors provided by the journal at http://www.springer.com/life+sci/microbiology/journal/10532 (on the right hand side of the journal page)

  • All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the Editorial Management System (EMS), which can be accessed at http://www.editorialmanager.com/biod/, before 20 April.

In the online submission procedure, when asked to “choose the article type of your manuscript from the pull-down menu”, authors must choose: “SI: BioMicroWorld2009” in the pull-down menu.

When asked to “Enter Comments” the authors must type the following comments in the box: This manuscript is intended for the special issue “BioMicroWorld2009” guest edited by Ramesh C. Kuhad.

Other comments related to the manuscript may be added after the aforementioned paragraph.

It is crucial that this procedure is followed by each corresponding author, otherwise the papers will not be recognized as being part of the special issue and will be published as regular papers.

Please, also have a look at the guide on how to submit a new manuscript for the Biodegradation special issue at: Submitting New Manuscripts

  • Once submitted, every paper will be reviewed and the corresponding authors will be notified about the review results of their papers in due course (the whole review process, including peer review by referees and minor/major revision by authors, will finish by June)

General remarks for papers submitted to Biodegradation

  • Manuscripts should be submitted in Word (Save your file in doc format. Do not submit docx files).

  • Use a normal, plain font (e.g., 10-point Times Roman) for text.

  • Submit all your artwork – photographs, line drawings, etc. – in an electronic format. Your art will then be produced to the highest standards with the greatest accuracy to detail. The published work will directly reflect the quality of the artwork provided.
